This unit develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of the principles that underpin effective assessment. Learners explore different assessment methods, the responsibilities of an assessor, assessment planning, quality assurance, legal requirements, learner involvement and the importance of fair, valid and reliable assessment decisions.
2. Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment

Learners develop practical competence in planning and conducting assessments, making assessment decisions, providing feedback and reviewing their own assessment practice.
